Cylinder/Component Distortion

Mechtell can measure complete components and detect distortions due to heat or physical stresses. We can provide 3-D dimensions and maps of the measured areas to aid with any needed machining or shimming.

Surface Mapping/Distortion

Mechtell can measure surface profiles and help find any distortions. This can be useful on large surfaces such as sole plates and horizontal joints that are difficult to measure and map with traditional methods.

Virtual Fitups

Mechtell can fit two pieces of mating equipment together virtually without the actual components being anywhere near each other. By measuring components independently, we can determine how well their mating surfaces fit together. We have also been able to determine the best fit for bolt hole pattern alignment. We can virtually fit a piece of equipment onto its hold-down bolts. We have a new method of aligning a flow guide the can be performed with the rotor out and off critical path. By virtualizing the rotor, Mechtell can produce flow guide alignment numbers in minutes so that alignment time consists almost solely of flow guide adjustment time. This can significantly reduce or even remove flow guide alignment time from the critical path.
